Permeable backdrops are used as screens to project images.
i-Mesh serves as the filter, sign, and projection area simultaneously. The study of void volume played a crucial role in achieving the highest definition and demonstrates the remarkable relationship between i-Mesh and beam light.
“Puzzle Me!” narrates a significant cultural project that emerged from collaboration between the Academy of Beijing and NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti. The scenography, conceived with Marco Cristini, serves as a communication platform with strong impact, where Chinese choreographer Yang Jiang positioned 11 performers from 7 different countries to dance to the sounds of the RUAN, a traditional Chinese stringed instrument.
Scenographer Margherita Palli chose to blend two materials reflecting the project's identity and symbolic conceptual intentions: paper, an ancient material transformed by Chinese tradition into objects and calligraphy, and i-Mesh, an essential texture symbolizing technological matter in its purest form.
As a result, i-Mesh was selected as a finalist in 2016 in the category of “Light and Surface Interior” for the prestigious Surface Design Award 2016 in London.
