With i-Mesh, it is possible to prototype even less than 1 square meter, so we can constantly test, refine, and easily prototype.
Our materials are very light, so the weight per square meter is significantly contained. Further, our supply philosophy aims to sustain the local economy and reduce CO2 emissions.
The lightweight of i-Mesh makes its transport economical and compact, while the installation can be a straightforward procedure with savings in manpower and equipment.
i-Mesh is constantly evolving. Since 2010, we have tested our products in several research centers, from Europe to the USA, from Japan to Canada.
i-Mesh panels are produced by light and innovative CAM equipment, which can form tailored panels while creating zero scraps.
We only produce tailor-shaped panels ready to be installed. By such a practice, we shorten the traditional supply chain, saving many resources.
Our commitment to sustainability is shared by all of the resources that we are able to manage. Since 2014, our remote work policy has allowed us to reduce the carbon footprints of our commuting employees.
i-Mesh is a small company driven with hope and passion by 30 people. Our team is multicultural and local at the same time, with a prevalence of women over men inside our office departments.
Numerous features determine the uniqueness of i-Mesh: beauty, strength, versatility, zero-waste production, use of ultra-strong materials, water-free, low energy process, and low carbon footprint.
As for zero-waste production, it is possible thanks to the innovative parametric technology, which enables the creation of fully customized fiber panels, and soft composites of any shape and size.
This optimizes the use of raw material in favor of an environmentally friendly approach.
Relying on electronically programmed and stored data, it is also possible to accurately calculate processing times and perfectly replicate the parts produced. A design approach that develops models and prototypes using parametric software, coupled with innovative construction technology, places i-Mesh among the most cutting-edge materials currently available. In this sense, i-Mesh is the paradigm of Industry 4.0, where Technology, Mathematics, and Art meet to create human comfort.
The use of computational design also makes it possible to create a textile with controlled performance in every part.
A shining example is the world's longest retractable roof at 3 km in length made for Expo 2020 Dubai, a project developed in collaboration with German architect Werner Sobek, creator of the Triple Zero principle: zero consumption, zero emissions, and zero waste.
Thanks to the parametric design of the fabric, it was possible to install the product without the aid of cross beams, as the wires were placed in the directions of the most important forces.
"This is a rule of light engineering. If you want to minimize weight, you have to orient the material along the path of the main forces" (Eng. Werner Sobek).
Because the form of i-Mesh followed the function, it was possible to save 31 tons of CO2 released into the environment, generated by not using steel beams. The product's durability and timeless beauty are also features that encourage the reuse of the panels, which can find a new and creative location.
