Defining Spaces through Material & Light | Zaha Hadid Architects

Events and Exhibitions

Clerkenwell Design Week, the UK's premier design festival, celebrated London's creative hub. It featured thousands of products, 600 events, numerous installations, over 160 showrooms, talks on current affairs, and much more.

The festival took place from 23 to 25 May 2023. Zaha Hadid Architects hosted "Defining Spaces through Material & Light" in collaboration with ERCO, showcasing bespoke materials.

This special exhibit highlighted responsive lighting design, bespoke materials, and a series of inspiring talks by industry leaders. As a space dedicated to highly customizable products, i-Mesh also had its own showcase. Seven mineral fiber panels (carbon, basalt, volcano, technora, zylon, and glass fiber) were exhibited with seven distinct patterns.

The innovative parametric technology used in designing and manufacturing the fabric allows for fully customized fiber panels and soft composites of any shape and size. This approach minimizes waste production and ensures consistent fabric performance.

This optimization of raw materials supports an environmentally friendly approach. i-Mesh utilizes a design strategy that involves modeling and prototyping using parametric software and innovative construction techniques, placing it among the most advanced materials available today. In this sense, i-Mesh embodies the principles of "Industry 4.0", where Technology, Mathematics, and Art converge to enhance human comfort.

We express our gratitude to Zaha Hadid Architects for this exceptional opportunity.
