Sala Ronda | Pitti Uomo

Events and Exhibitions

The Sala Ronda at Pitti Uomo in Florence has been transformed into a unique scenography thanks to the use of i-Mesh fabric.

During the 104th summer edition of Pitti Uomo, held from June 13 to 16 at the Fortezza da Basso, the main theme was the Pitti Games, with "Play" as the focal point.

In the I GO OUT section, one of Pitti Uomo's most popular itineraries showcasing international brands for outdoor clothing and accessories, an installation curated by Sebastiano Tosi, a Swiss designer known for his versatility from interior design to advertising, was unveiled.

Central to the new layout is i-Mesh, a technical, innovative, sustainable, and fully customizable fabric designed for architecture, design, and art. A result of advanced, patented, and award-winning technology, i-Mesh is a non-woven fabric distinguished by its beauty, durability, and versatility, all achieved with zero production waste.

The I GO OUT installation created a unique environment where concepts from seemingly distant worlds converged. Suspended from the ceiling, three-dimensional structures made with i-Mesh fiberglass and basalt textiles played with spatial perception from various perspectives. On the ground, benches crafted from wood, jute, and Cordura were set amidst natural elements, highlighting the harmony between humanity and nature.

Choosing i-Mesh for the Sala Ronda at Pitti Uomo was not merely an aesthetic decision but also a conceptual one, inviting industry professionals to contemplate potential transformations in the textile and apparel sectors. i-Mesh's features represent innovation: functional fibers, natural hues, distinct textures, and water-free production processes that prevent environmental discharge.

Moreover, its zero-waste manufacturing eliminates intermediary steps in fabric conversion to final products. i-Mesh also supports extensive customization and promotes reuse before recycling. Ultimately, the textile and apparel sectors could draw inspiration from architectural applications like i-Mesh, just as architecture might find inspiration from clothing industries for softer, more comfortable solutions in indoor and outdoor environments.

This cross-sector interaction underscores the significance of exchanging and evolving ideas.
